Now that The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time 3D has been released, it’s time to start looking forward to Nintendo’s next 3DS remake: Star Fox 64 3D. Sure, it may not be a cornerstone in gaming history like Ocarina of Time has become, but Star Fox 64 was a damn fun game, and it just so happens that you can catch five minutes footage from the 3DS version after the break.

This trailer preivews all the new features of the 3DS version, and a lot of time is devoted to showing off how the gyro controls work (even though they really can’t be used when you’ve got 3D on), and giving us a look at the new multiplayer mode, which apparently has you shooting down your friends as they giggle uncontrollably.

All in all, this is looking like a pretty solid title, but for the moment this trailer only really serves to remind you that you don’t have many great games on the 3DS. With Cave Story 3D being delayed, we’ll have to wait through the hot summer months until Star Fox 64 3D is released in September, then shortly after that, the 3DS library should begin bulking up a bit.

To me, the graphics don’t look they’ve been drastically improved, but considering this was one of the best games the N64 had to offer, I doubt that’s going to matter that much.
