Microsoft Officially Launches Office 365, Now Available On A Global Basis [Microsoft Launches Office 365, Touts It As A "Game Changer for Businesses Of All Sizes"]

Microsoft originally announced Office 365 way back in October of last year, and with that comes the good news for anyone that may have been waiting — it is officially available on a global basis (in 40 markets) as of today. Yup, the beta tag has been stripped away and those interested can begin using Office 365.

That being said, most of what we know about Office 365 we learned during that October announcement, however given that is far back, a recap on the features is in order. But first, something new — the pricing. According to the details from Microsoft, Office 365 will be priced from as low as $2 and up to $27 per month per user. Of course, the catch in that is the price will go up and/or down depending on the level of service that you request.

Aside from that, Microsoft offers this example;

“With Office 365 for small businesses, customers can be up and running with Office Web Apps, Microsoft Exchange Online, Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lync Online and an external website in minutes, for $6 (U.S.) per user, per month. These tools put enterprise-grade email, shared documents, instant messaging, video and Web conferencing, portals, and more at everyone’s fingertips.”

Otherwise, Microsoft is touting Office 365 as being a “game changer for businesses of all sizes” and highlighting a major feature as how various users can always be on the “same page” using features such as instant messaging and virtual meetings regardless if the other user is on the other side of the office or the other side of the world.

But the bottom line, this is your Office in the cloud and it offers compatibility with Microsoft Office apps to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneNote and Outlook as well as other Office applications including Microsoft SharePoint Online, Microsoft Exchange Online and Microsoft Lync Online.
