Sony Vaio Z Business Thin & Light Notebook Launched [Sony to Introduce Ultraportable Vaio Z in Europe, US & Japan; Will Feature Docking Station & Battery Expansion]
Road warriors have another gadget to salivate over, as Sony introduces the ultraportable Vaio Z notebook computer. Weighing just about two pounds, this lightweight notebook computer is meant for serious business.

Sony has announced that the Vaio Z ultraportable will launch in Europe soon, followed by a US and Japan launch. The Vaio Z features a 13-inch 1600×900 pixel VAIO Display Premium that offers glare-free viewing but crisp and clear output. The Vaio Z will also feature the latest generation Intel Core i7 running at standard voltage, DDR3 RAM support, and up to 256 GB SSD storage in a RAID configuration. The Vaio Z also supports an internal 3G module for mobile connectivity even without a Wi-Fi network.
The Vaio Z also comes with two features that expand on the notebook’s functionality, particularly the sheet battery and Power Media dock. The sheet battery can be plugged underneath the computer to extend battery life from 7 hours with the built-in batteries to 14 hours. Meanwhile, the Power Media dock supports additional VGA and HDMI ports for up to four displays, as well as accelerated Radeon HD graphics for serious gaming or CAD work.
No pricing has been announced, although Sony says the Vaio Z will be available starting July.
