Motorola Triumph Release Date Confirmed by Best Buy Pre-orders

The Motorola Triumph, announced by Sprint and Virgin Mobile a few weeks ago, is available for pre-order from Best Buy as we speak. The phone will cost you just $299, and that’s the full price too, as we’re looking at a pre-pay-only handset right here.

But you knew that already, didn’t you? What we were still unable to confirm, at least until now, was the actual release date of the handset. Virgin Mobile said it’ll have the phone in stores on July 19 only to retract it thereafter.

Today we can tell you that while Virgin is yet to confirm the launch of the Triumph, the Best Buy pre-order process is ready to confirm the Android smartphone is coming on July 19. Best Buy will apparently ship this baby to your doorstep on July 19, which appears to be the official release date of the smartphone (see screenshot below).

In case you’re still not yet sure whether this smartphone is the Android device you were looking for then you should check out its specs and features again: 4.1-inch touchscreen display, 1GHz processor, 5-megapixel back camera with HD video recording, VGA front-facing camera, up to 32GB of memory and Android OS, which we still hope it’s Gingerbread right out of the box.

This is how cheap, affordable, smartphones look like nowadays, and the Triumph is just another reason Apple will have to seriously consider launching mid-ranged iPhones (like the rumored iPhone 4S) that would be available to the general public for entry-level prices. Of course, considering what the Triumph has to offer, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a mid-ranged smartphone since it can comfortably compete with most Android handsets out there, and not only.
