Ubisoft Reveals The Black Eyed Peas Experience

Even though Ubisoft’s newest dance game, Michael Jackson: The Experience, was met with pretty unimpressive reviews, it still managed to sell like hotcakes. That may have had more to do with Michael Jackson than the fact that it’s a dance game, but nevertheless, Ubisoft is moving forward with the next game in the series: The Black Eyed Peas Experience.

Er… The Black Eyed Peas? Maybe I’m just missing a bigger picture, but I wouldn’t expect Ubisoft to follow up Michael Jackson with a group like the The Black Eyed Peas. I guess they’re both strange, and BEP makes for some good dance music, but I would have thought Lady Gaga or (dare I say) Justin Bieber would have been the better choice if they really wanted to move some copies. Still, it’s apparent now that Ubisoft has every intention of turning this into a franchise, so I’m sure we’ll see those artists or someone similar in the inevitable future iterations.

Regardless, this is happening, and you can check out the freshly-released trailer for it below. I have to say though, between this new Experience series, the Just Dance series, and Dance Central, it seems like we’re heading toward the kind of over-saturation that ended the mighty reign of the music game. The dance genre may be less susceptible to such a death though, considering these aren’t really peripheral-based games.

Ubisoft hasn’t given an exact release date yet, only saying that it’s “coming soon,” to Kinect and Wii, so this one might still be a while off.
