APS-J NoPoPo Batteries Run on Water
Ever run out of power in the middle of nowhere? Maybe all you need is a few minutes of charge, say for a digital camera or portable radio. If you have the APS-J liquid-powered batteries in your bag or pocket, you won’t have to worry.

Pardon the funny name, but green-minded techies out there would probably like the concept of charging their gadgets with water. APS-J says its batteries can be recharged with a few drops of water or any liquid. It’s even eco-friendlier if you can use recycled liquid, say your own urine.
NoPoPo stands for No Pollution Power, and these batteries will give you anywhere from 3 to 10 minutes of power with a few drops of liquid, which then results in the chemical reactions within the battery cells that provide power. Each cell can be recharged thrice before they get completely depleted. These cells are best used for applications that require low current draw, such as flashlights, radios, clocks, and the like. What’s best is that NoPoPo batteries have a shelf-life of 20 years, which means you can simply pack these in your bag and activate the batteries anytime with liquid.
APS-J NoPoPo batteries will start retailing in Japan and the US this August, and will initially come only in AA form factor.
