Motorola Droid Bionic vs Samsung Galaxy S II – What Should You Buy? [Infographic Compares Bananas to Apples Ahead of Release Date: 4G LTE, Verizon-Only Droid Bionic Against Worldwide Star Galaxy S II]
Well, well, what do we have here? A very interesting infographic, filled with information about two of the hottest Android handsets of the year, the Motorola Droid Bionic and the Samsung Galaxy S II. But with all due respect to the creators of the image below I’ll have to say it’s a pretty silly comparison.

Sure, these are two impressive Android devices, flagship handsets of Motorola and Samsung, respectively, but can one really compare the two of them and draw objective conclusions when assessing which one of the two will sell better with the crowds? I think not, and I’m about to prove that by answering two simple questions.
#1 Which of the two (Motorola Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy S II) will be the best sold LTE device with Verizon in the following months? The Motorola Droid Bionic. You know why? Because this super smartphone will have LTE support whereas the default Galaxy S II version doesn’t come with LTE on board. Considering that Verizon is selling the Samsung Droid Charge, 4G LTE Android smartphone, as we speak, its Galaxy S II flavor may not be getting 4G speeds anytime soon.
#2 Which of the two (Motorola Droid Bionic and Samsung Galaxy S II) will be the best sold Android device worldwide by the end of the year? The Samsung Galaxy S II. Why? Well the Droid Bionic is a Verizon exclusive while the Galaxy S II is one step away from cold-calling every smartphone user in the world and ask for five minutes of their time. Not that it’s a bad thing that Samsung is going for, again, an almost simultaneous worldwide release of its flagship Android smartphone.
The infographic above seems to suggest that the Galaxy S II is the more popular between the two. That conclusion has been reached after analyzing 14,838 “opinions across social media expressing intent to purchase the Motorola Droid Bionic or the Samsung Galaxy S II.” That’s great and everything but I think that I just pointed out the flaws of this survey. In case we’re looking at just U.S.-based social media then yes, the Galaxy S II is a true winner. Otherwise the whole thing is a comparison between apples and bannanas. Come to think of it, what I’d really like to see is a similar infographic based on responses from Verizon-only customers, to really be able to compare these two devices when it comes to their pre-release popularity.
As for interest in the two phones, I’ll not that while the Samsung Galaxy S II has started in various non-U.S. markets, the Droid Bionic has been delayed for an unmentioned period of time. That’s why there’s a temporary drop in interest for the Motorola Droid Bionic, isn’t it? Oh, and even if there’s no release date for the Droid Bionic yet, it’ll most certainly come without Ice Cream Sandwich on board since that Android version will come out only in winter while the Bionic will arrive in the following months.
Anyone cares to disagree or agree with me on the infographic above?
