iPad 2 Jailbreak to Hit Very Soon?

Comex’ iPad 2 jailbreak was one of the hot topics of last week as a rumor saying that JailbreakMe 3.0 would be launched on June 17 wandered across the vast plains of the Internets only to be proven fake. Then Comex came out detailing his intentions regarding the future of iOS jailbreaks without actually mentioning a release date for the iPad 2 jailbreak.

The iPad 2, in case you didn’t know, is the only iOS device that can’t be jailbroken at this time, even if it was hacked right after Apple released it. The current jailbreak tool work on all the iOS devices up to the iPad 2, no matter what iOS they would be running as Apple can prevent users to use jailbreak programs through new iOS updates.

But the iPad 2 uses new hardware, and just like it so will the iPhone 4S/5 and that’s what stops hackers from releasing a working jailbreak for any new iOS-running devices. Two of the most recent tweets coming from Comex suggest that he could launch JailbreakMe 3.0 in the very near future, and quite possibly in the following days:

Combine the tweet above with previous teaser tweets and a tweet he sent out earlier this week in which he basically he admitted the iPad 2 jailbreak is late:

… and you’ll conclude that it’s a matter of days until a proper iPad 2 jailbreak becomes public.

From what he tweets it’s pretty clear that he may be changing his iPad 2 jailbreak agenda, and that, one way or another, we could see an iPad 2 jailbreak tool arrive in the very near future. Of course this could be just wishful thinking from anyone interpreting his tweets, since, at the end of the day we still don’t have release dates for JailbreakMe 3.0.
