L.A. Noire Coming To PC Later This Year [Take-Two Says L.A. Noire Has Shipped 4 Million Copies Since Launch, Rockstar Leeds Porting L.A. Noire To PC This Fall]
Those of you disappointed by the fact that Red Dead Redemption never made it to PC may be happy to hear that Rockstar hasn’t abandoned your preferred platform just yet, as they’re bringing L.A. Noire to PC this fall. Okay, so it may not be the best consolation since Red Dead Redemption is possibly one of the best games ever made, but still: it’s L.A. Noire, man.

According to the press release from Take-Two, L.A. Noire is being ported to the PC by Rockstar Leeds, one of the groups behind Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. Take-two says that game will “run on a wide range of PCs,” and will allow for keyboard remapping and gamepad play. Take-Two’s also touting a graphical boost for this iteration, as well as announcing support for 3D.
At the end of the press release, Take-Two also announced that L.A. Noire has shipped a total of four million copies so far. Regardless of how much it’s actually sold, those are some pretty impressive numbers when you consider it only came out on May 17th. Despite having only two weeks left in the month at launch, L.A. Noire topped the NPD’s list for the month of May (selling nearly a million copies by May 31st), so it seems pretty safe to assume that most of those 4 million shipped copies have also been sold.
So while it may not be Red Dead Redemption, at least another great Rockstar is coming to PC in its place. Who knows, if this one sells well, maybe it’ll convince Rockstar to finally bring RDR over? It may be foolish to get your hopes up, but a gamer can dream, right?
No solid release date on L.A. Noire for PC yet, but we’ll keep you posted as more details surface. Anyone going to pick this one up when it releases, or are most of you going to stick with the 360 and PS3 versions? Let us know in the comments section below!
