Entire Sonic Generations Stage List Revealed? [Sonic Fans Dig Deep & Find Full Sonic Generations Stage List Hidden Within New Xbox 360 & PS3 Demo]

Some Sonic fans over at the Retro Sonic forums have unearthed what they say is the full Sonic Generations stage list hidden within the Sonic Generations demo. Why Sega would include such a list in a demo that only consists of Green Hill Zone is beyond me, but you can check out the full list of past Sonic stages that are getting a makeover in Generations after the break (it should go without saying, but stop reading if you’d prefer to have an unspoiled romp through Generations).

Here’s the list of leaked stages and planned boss battles as it appears on the Retro Sonic forums:

Green Hill Zone
Chemical Plant Zone
Sky Sanctuary Zone
Speed Highway
City Escape
Seaside Hill
Crisis City
Rooftop Run
Planet Wisp

DLC
Casino Night Zone

Boss fights
Metal Sonic
Shadow
Silver
“Death Egg”
Perfect Chaos
Egg Dragoon
Boss LastBoss(TimeEater) (That’s just what the file calls it.)

Of course, we all knew that Green Hill Zone and City Escape are in the game already, but this list reveals that Sonic Generations will cover most of the major Sonic releases, from the original Sonic the Hedgehog all the way up to Sonic Colors.

The ones I’m most excited for have to be Chemical Plant Zone and Sky Sanctuary Zone from Sonic 2 and Sonic & Knuckles, respectively, though I have to say that I’m a bit disappointed that Marble Zone and Ice Cap Zone are nowhere to be seen. I’m also a bit let down by the length of the list as well, but as we can clearly see, Sega’s planning DLC stages for Sonic Generations, which rectifies that issue to an extent.

There’s just one little caveat to go along with that Casino Night Zone DLC however, as things are not what they seem: Casino Night Zone appears to be a pinball level that’s inspired by the zone, not an actual high-def remake of the zone itself. This – let’s be honest – sounds kind of stupid, but hey, with Sonic Generations looking as good as it does currently, we can’t blame Sega for stumbling in a few areas.

You can also see that there’s no shortage of baddies from Sonic’s past, and the idea of having some epic boss battle at the end of each stage sounds pretty awesome. If Sega can keep Sonic Generations looking as good as Green Hill Zone and City Escape look so far, then we may be in for a treat once November rolls around.

Keep in mind, none of this has been confirmed yet, so take all of this information with a grain of salt (or two). Barring that this is all fake, there’s still a lot of time left before the game launches, so even if this is list is, in fact, correct, it still might change before we get our hands on the finished product.

Still, there’s something for pretty much every Sonic fan to get excited about here. Which stages are you excited for the most? Have any bosses you can’t wait to rematch or any stages you’d like to see made available as DLC? Give us your own list in the comments section below!

I would like to see some Star Light Zone myself. I prefer that one to Casino Night Zone (if you can even compare the two).

I hope you’re right, man. I was hoping for multiple stages from each of the Genesis games, at least.

Casino Night was deconfirmed as a full stage in the console version, but could/should be a full stage in the 3ds version.

Really, I’m excited about everything up through City Escape. Speed Highway is the obvious choice from SA, and I’ll wager it will be the highlight of the whole game.

They could have done better than Sky Sanctuary Zone from S3&K, like Marble Garden or even Lava Reef or Hidden Palace.

As for the newer stages… whatever. At least they got Spagonia in there. I’m just bummed this game appears to play more like the 360/PS3 version of Unleashed for the modern stages as compared to the Wii version.
