Archos Generation 9 Honeycomb Tablets Officially Announced [Archos Unveils The 8" Archos 80 & The 10.1" Archos 101 Tablets, Both Set To Debut In September With Android 3.1 Honeycomb]
We first got word that Archos was going to be unveiling some new tablets back on June 3rd when word of a press event hit the interwebs. And well, as we had expected, Archos took to the stage and unveiled the Generation 9 Archos 80 and the Archos 101 tablets.

And with that, while these new models may not be the highest quality Android tablet on the market, we are fairly certain that they will arrive with much more excitement as comported to the $99 Archos Arnova 7 that we recently told you about. Anyway, the newly announced Generation 9 Archos 80 and Archos 101 are both expected to come available in September.
Kind of a bummer that these have been announced so far in advance, especially considering they will both be running Android 3.1 Honeycomb at launch. And for those not keeping track of the Android release schedule, these tablets will debut in September with Honeycomb which is fairly close to when Ice Cream Sandwich is going to be released. That said, we hope that Archos has taken that into consideration and will offer an upgrade. But alas, nothing was mentioned just yet.

Otherwise, these new tablets will feature similar specs across the board with the major difference being the display size. The Archos 80 will have an 8 inch display with a 1024 x 768 resolution and the Archos 101 will have a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x 800 resolution.
In addition, both models will be powered by a 1.5GHz ARM Cortex A9 processor and feature a 250GB hard drive, HDMI, USB and perhaps most important — access to the Android Market. Plus, the tablets will both come with support for Flash and are both 3G ready. And by 3G ready, that means they will work with the newly announced 3G WWAN USB stick from Archos (which will set you back $49).
And lastly, once available the Archos 80 will be selling for $279 and the Archos 101 will be selling for $349.
