iPhone 5 Design Rumors Emerge, Reports Suggest The Home Key Is Back And Bigger
The iPhone 5 rumor mill is running every bit as fast and furious as its predecessors did, so grab your salt block, put on your tinfoil hat, and brace yourselves, because what we’ve heard now is going to change a whole lot of what we’d thought prior to this.

The biggest new point is the projection that, based on current reports and, reportedly, some sketches, is that the iPhone 5 will have a tapered, teardrop shape to it instead of the slab design of earlier releases (and unlike the wedge shape as projected earlier and pictured above), almost more like the iPod Touch than the iPhone 4. The front of the phone is said to be mostly screen, and the home button, which had been previously thought removed, will now not only be back, but back at significantly larger dimensions than the previous. Moreover, some reports suggest that the iPhone 5 might be a more global phone, with GSM and CDMA capabilities so that it can travel.
These reports are based largely on extrapolation from earlier reports, rather than any concrete word out of Apple proper, but most of the tech news industry has been playing connect the dots with the iPhone 5 news pretty much since the iPhone 4 was released. Any of these concepts could, as a result, be rendered completely invalid by the time the actual phone is released, but much of it makes sense. Considering all the Apple / Samsung lawsuit battles of late, especially; what better way to put paid to a copycat than to completely shake up the form factor of your flagship product?
The rumors make some sense, though just what will become reality will remain to be seen until the project’s launch. So what do you guys think? Like the thought of a tapered iPhone with a bigger home button? Or were you just fine with the design on the iPhone 4? Leave your thoughts down in the comments section!

I love the iPhone 4 design I hope that they do not mess it up cause I would be tempted to get the White iPhone 4 or even (hopefully not) look towards android. A bigger home button and a teardrop shape does not sound too good but I have faith in Steve jobs and I hope that he doesn’t let me down.
It could have 2x size battery… if it kept the same thickness as the EXTREMELY thin iPhone 4.
It is still running a crippled OS and will cost way more than the tech is worth.
But the fanboi’s will flock to it like the sheeple they are.
Objectively speaking those statements are also valid for other mobile operating systems out there.
Bigger battery at a smaller size? Never a bad thing.
