Black MacBook Air Coming Soon?
It is being reported by every Mac rumor site under the sun that Apple will be unveiling a new Sandy Bridge-based MacBook Air sometime soon. That is partially doubtable for a few reasons, but a new rumor riding on the back of that rumor is that Apple will be releasing a black-colored MacBook Air.

As many of our readers will know, Apple used to offer a black plain MacBook. They have never offered a black version of the high-performance MacBook Pro as far as I know, nor a black version of the MacBook Air, so there would be a lot of demand for such a device, me thinks.
As for Sandy Bridge rumors, Apple has been using the ultra-portable low-end Intel Core 2 Duo processors in their MacBook Air machines, likely due to cost and heating requirements. I’m not sure if any of the new Intel Sandy Bridge processors can fit in the same heat and power requirements that the Intel Core 2 Duo does.
Of course, the dark unwritten secret of the Apple blogging circle is that many leaks come directly from Apple themselves, and are usually leaked intentionally to one of the usual outlets (John Gruber, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, etc.) Because this Sandy Bridge MacBook Air rumor appeared and spread quickly, we’re partly inclined to believe that this is one coming from Cupertino. But, you never know.
Would you buy a black Sandy Bridge-powered MacBook Air? Do you think Apple should release more black computers? Tell us what you think about Apple’s colors in the comments section.
