Motorola Xoom 4G LTE & Droid 3 to be Launched Soon?
The Motorola Xoom didn’t manage to become the main iPad 2 rival out there, and it’s going to fight a fierce battle with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and the HP TouchPad for that number #2 position, although it’s Asus and its slew of Android tablets that could pose serious threats to all these devices.

Motorola however may have a hidden trick up its sleeve, which is LTE support for the Xoom. Just a few days ago we saw a Verizon commercial that revealed a new tablet and most people assumed we were looking at the upcoming Motorola Xoom 4G LTE. We know this model is supposed to hit Verizon stores soon (in fact you’ll be able to upgrade your current Xoom to LTE too) and today we hear that the release of the new Xoom LTE might be closer than we think.
A new Verizon document talking about minimum advertised prices for Verizon devices has been leaked and in it we can easily notice the Motorola Xoom LTE. The MAP for the Xoom LTE has not been mentioned in it but we assume that this tablet model will be launched in the very near future considering that Verizon is obviously getting ready to launch it.

Along with the Motorola Xoom 4G LTE we also noticed the Motorola Droid 3, the third Droid model in its family and a device that has already started selling in China as the Milestone 3. The document doesn’t reveal launch dates for the Droid 3 either; although word on the street is that the phone will be available on July 7, so there’s a little some more waiting to be done for it.
What do you say, Android fans, will you purchase the Motorola Xoom now that it’s coming with LTE support? We’d also like to hear from those of you that already own the Xoom, will you send it in for the 4G upgrade?

LTE……yes! 1 gig of ram….yes! 3G for droid 3…..big NO! 512 meg of ram…lame! Enough said.
Yeah, I’ll most likely send mine in, although it pains me to be without it for a week. Seriously, though, why is it taking so long. I/we paid (arguably too much) good money for this thing, you’d think Verizon would want to bend over backwards to keep us happy. Instead, all we get is dumb looks and shrugged shoulders.
I for one, am looking forward to the 4G upgrade to the current Xoom. Reliance in Verizon’s statement that the Motorola upgrade will be very soon was a significant influence to purchase the 2year data contract Verizon offered.
Really would like to see the SD port accessible from a factory release of the OS, too.
I’d likely be interested in acquiring a Xoom2 early on if it included the Tegra3. NVIDIA / ARM really hit a home run with this architectural design.
