2011 Mac Pro & Mini Refresh With OS X Lion, Sandy Bridge & Thunderbolt on Board Coming in Early August?
Apple is about to launch a bunch of new computers, both laptops and desktops, in the near future, which probably means we’ll see them in stores at some point after OS X Lion gets official in July. A recent report already suggested that the new MacBook Air, Mac Mini and Mac Pro will not be launched until Lion is rolled out, and today’s rumor fits nicely with it.

We expect to see the 2011 MacBook Air refresh come out first, at some point in the following weeks, followed by the 2011 Mac Mini and 2011 Mac Pro refreshes. According to some sources it would seem that the next-gen Mac Pros and Mac Minis will launch “either end of July [or] first of August”.
August seems to be the “more likely” launch window although there’s no precise release date for either the Mini or the Pro. The news come via Brian Tong’s Twitter account, and the source behind them is said to be the same one that correctly predicted the May launch for the 2011 iMac refresh.
The new computers should bring a bunch of expected updates, such as OS X Lion on board (obviously) along with Sandy Bridge Intel processors and Thunderbolt I/O support. Of course we’ve been saying the same thing about the MacBook Air, and these upgrades seem to be more than certain for Apple’s 2011 range of computers. Naturally we don’t have the full specs sheet for either the Mac Pro or the Mac Mini so all we can do at this point is sit and wait for Apple to make them official.
What are you more likely to purchase this year? A new MacBook Air, Mac Mini or Mac Pro? Or will you rather go for the 2011 MacBook Pro or iMac models?

if those new machines don’t have an antiglare display then they are not worth much
you can’t work on them during a nice sunny day on your patio because you won’t see what is
on the display
to be spending thousands of dollars on machines where you can’t see the screen due to glare is insane – if the company is not willing to make machines with antiglare displays (due to greed) – then screw them
