Samsung Galaxy S 4G Will Be Free (On-Contract) On June 22nd With T-Mobile

From time to time T-Mobile will run a one-day only sale. These sales are generally a rather nice deal, and this latest is not an exception to that rule. That being said, it looks like those who were considering the purchase of a new Android smartphone with T-Mobile may want to hold off until the 22nd of June.

In terms of the phone, that is the Samsung Galaxy S 4G and it will be available for free. Yup, free as in zip, zilch, nada, nothing. Well, free as long as you are willing to agree to a two-year commitment. But honestly, that contract part almost goes without saying at this point. And for those not as familiar with the current pricing, the Galaxy S 4G is listed at $149.99, which comes after a $50 mail-in-rebate. In other words, you would normally have to shell out $199.99 on the day of purchase.

In terms of features, the Galaxy S 4G sports a 4 inch Super AMOLED display, 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor, 16GB of internal storage, a 5 megapixel camera and is running Android 2.2 Froyo.

Of course, if you are looking for a new Android phone on T-Mobile and not digging the Galaxy S 4G, there are several other models such as the HTC Sensation 4G. Then again, while the Sensation may be a bit newer, me personally, I would much rather prefer paying nothing as opposed to $199.99. And that is not to say the purchase price is not justified for the Sensation 4G with its 4.3 inch qHD display, dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1080p video recording but the way I see it — saving $200 on the day of purchase could pay for a few months of service. Well, a few months depending on which calling plan you choose to go with. Bottom line, yes I am cheap however I suspect I am not alone in that respect.
