BioWare: Mass Effect 3 Isn't The End Of ME Series
I’d be lying if I told you that I wasn’t at least a little bummed out that Mass Effect 3 is going to wrap up Commander Shepard’s trilogy. Both titles have been great (and get over it fanboys, Mass Effect 2 is at least as good as Mass Effect 1), and seeing the last part in what has been an awesome games series is always a little bittersweet.

But hold on a minute, BioWare says. Just because Mass Effect 3 is the end of this trilogy doesn’t mean it’s the end of the series. “This is not the end of the Mass Effect franchise by any means,” BioWare co-founder Ray Muzyka told Eurogamer. “We have more things planned. We’re laser-focused on making sure Mass Effect 3 is awesome and epic and intense on a galactic scale, and we want to provide a satisfying conclusion to the trilogy.”
“But also it’s a beginning on a brand new adventure,” Muzyka added. “The galaxy is at war. It’s a beginning as well as a conclusion.”
Even though Muzyka says this isn’t the end, there’s still a lot more to reveal about the future of Mass Effect. For instance, is Mass Effect 3 actually going to be the end of Shepard’s story, or will we see him in future titles? And what is this war Muzyka is talking about? Is it the war with the Reapers, who are invading Earth at the beginning of Mass Effect 3, or does an entirely new conflict arise after the Reapers (presumably) fall?
Time will tell, but I’m sure for now fans are just happy to know that finishing Mass Effect 3 won’t necessarily be the end of their space-faring adventures. What do you think – excited at the possibility of more Mass Effect later on down the road, or are you going to call it good after this trilogy wraps? Do you think BioWare and EA are just going to turn this franchise in a cash-grab with future installments? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
