LulzSec Takes Down CIA.gov for the Fun Of It
LulzSec or Lulz Security are a bunch of smart hackers that are not taking any prisoners. After hitting Sony, Bethesda’s Brink site, EVE Online, Minecraft or League of Legends, and after asking people for hacking suggestions, LulzSec went after a bigger fish, CIA.gov.

We all know what the CIA is and what it does for a living, and I’m pretty sure the Agency will thoroughly investigate this one. Should the Lulz be worried? Well they opened this Pandora’s box and they might not like what they find inside.
There’s no good reason for attacking any site out there, and today’s reason behind the action of LulzSec is pretty childish to begin with. It would appear that LolzSec was challenged via Twitter to attack bigger targets and it looks like LulzSec responded with an unexpected attack on the CIA.
That’s definitely the kind of event that will make the headlines of news outlets all over the world and will, most likely, open official inquiries in the USA. If the CIA.gov website can get pawned that easily, then who can say it’s safe, when it comes to cybernetic attacks?

We’re going to move past whatever fun one could have on behalf of the CIA for getting hit like that, because, at the end of the day, nobody would really like to know that his or her activities online can be affected by such security breaches. We’ve just talked about Sony’s PSN outage caused by similar malicious intents, and it looks like this cyberattack wave is still going strong. The actions of the LulzSec may have not had any malevolent effects on regular Joes, but what if that’s something that’s going to happen sooner or later.
What do you think, folks? Does Lulz Security have any good grounds to continue the hacking spree?
Oh, and by the way, CIA.gov is still down and has been down for a few hours considering the tweet above.

Can someone please leak the names of all CIA staff and expose who they are already? They’re just people like us with access to some money and some contacts in high places. They have lots of supporters in high places as well, but if we know who they are we can scare them into becoming good people again and becoming one of us again…like an officer in plain clothes. Strip them of their secrecy and their crime synidicate criminal status.
LulzSec is not responsible if you forget to lock your car and it gets stolen.
Neither are they responsible for the incompetence of your IT-sys-admin.
