MSI Brings Out Potent New Gaming Laptop, The GT780R
Gaming laptops, folks! Gaming laptops! Don’t you love these little chunks of pricey, power-packed mayhem in a little folding chassis? I do, which is why I was abundantly happy to hear about the MSI GT780R, a new gaming laptop that’s got a pretty nice spec sheet to its credit.

How nice a spec sheet, you wonder? Well, why don’t we kick it off with an Intel Core i7-2630QM processor? Now, that by itself is a pretty nice step outward, but things only get better when we check out the rest. There’s a GeForce GTX 560M video card backed up by 1.5 gigs of VRAM, a terabyte of hard drive space, 16 gigs of RAM, a USB 3.0 port, an HTMI output, a 720p webcam, wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity, a programmable backlit keyboard from SteelSeries built right in, and Windows 7 Home Premium for an operating system.
It’s hard not to be impressed looking at that lineup. I’m reasonably sure that could handle most any game on the market for the next couple years at least, though just far out depends on how optimistic you are about the progress of PC gaming in general.Though like I said in the title, and like you probably figured, this sucker’s not going to come cheap, that’s for sure. Would you spend nearly $1800 on a laptop like this, or do you think they’re overreaching like nobody’s business in a bid to get the gamers who aren’t nearly so careful with their cash? No matter which way you lean, the comments section is waiting for you to talk laptops, so head on down!

Too expensive for what is being offered.
If you buy something like this, you better have a bunch of other high end applications you want to run on your notebook. If you are just getting it for gaming purposes, this is too much to spend.
I’d tend to agree, James–you can do quite a bit of gaming damage with much less laptop than this. But still, as a desktop replacement it’s pretty nice, I’d say.
