Final Cut Pro X Release Date Soon?

Apple Said To Be Close To Releasing Final Cut Pro X Along With Third-Party Affordable Thunderbolt Devices, Too Good To Be True?

Back in April, Apple announced Final Cut Pro X, an amazing new version of Final Cut Pro that as a lot of new features, like 64-bit support and other goodies. Still no sign of the new software, but that might be changing soon with rumors around that they’ll coming out soon, along with some actual devices for that Thunderbolt port on the back of your Mac.

Website MacRumors is reporting that a number of “official” images of Final Cut Pro X running on MacBook Pros has leaked to the internet. These are the sort of stuffy arranged white room images that Apple uses on their website, so it’s possible that these Final Cut shots are from Apple.com itself and that the new Final Cut Pro X is soon to be released.

It’s also reported that we might finally see Thunderbolt devices released. Thunderbolt is the new data port created by Intel and Apple based on Intel’s “Light Peak” technology. It uses the Mini-DisplayPort interface, and has been included on a few Macs already. Despite being this rocking data port, the only two Thunderbolt devices out there so far are two hard drives. Now, we might see more devices (and more affordable devices) coming out, according to blog tipsters. It’s being whispered that we could see Thunderbolt devices produced by third-parties like LaCie unveiled by Apple alongside the launch of Final Cut Pro X.

Final Cut Pro X is obviously a very professional product, and I think a lot of professionals would be interested in Thunderbolt-powered external hard drives and NAS devices, so Apple might be going for a special joint-announcement or something.

Are you planning to pick up Final Cut Pro X? Or planning to get some Thunderbolt devices, tell us about them in the comments section.

I just order a new Macbook Pro and I would certainly love to have the option of buying some thunderbolt products. However, if the products are 50% more expensive just because of the thunderbolt port then I’m just going to wait until the price drops. I think Thunderbolt will be great…but i think it will be a while before it becomes normal.

It’s a no brainer to get FCP X… Apple would not have bet some much on a complete redesign without extensive input from tons of professionals… and the Thunderbolt devices to handle the transfer of large amounts of data from video footage will be a powerful 1-2 punch that will bring Mac editing to new and exciting heights.

Being a red one owner R3D files of 2GB pr minute and a MacPro 8 core, 2,93 32gb ram, that FCP can hardly put a dent in, I switched to Adobe CS 5.5 and they really rock with their red support. I transcode realtime almost, but 10 minutes takes 2 hours in FCP yet only 2K vs adobe 4K. I know that they got 64 bit support in the new version X, but this is the last shot Apple gets. If they get it wrong I have an Xserver and MacPro for CHEAP sale.
If they get it right, I will upgrade to the new MacPro only to get ThunderBolt. Why?
To run DaVinchi resolve, smoke etc I need FAST raid speeds as one drive is too slow and I need to raid 0 or 5 to get 600-800MB read speeds over 130 max from one drive, that is continuos I may add. Secondly, having a $4500 red rocket graphics card (god thats a lot of money, but worth it), two quadro 4000, a Black magic 3G graphics card, I need to have external SDI slots. The MacPro as of now only has 2 x16 lanes and two x4 lanes.

All in all I really hope they get it right this time and its not iMovie (which you can make look quite close to the FCS-X demo pictures).
