Sprint Motorola Triumph Specs & Features Now Official
The Motorola Photon 4G is not the only Android smartphone launched today at the joint Sprint / Motorola event. Those of you interested more in Virgin Mobile handsets, rather than new Sprint 4G superphones, will surely be happy to try out the new Motorola Triumph made official today.

The Triumph (not from HTC) happens to be the first Android handset made by Motorola for Virgin Mobile USA, and not only is it a looker, but it also proposes some quite interesting specs and features. The phone could become one of the best-sold smartphones sold by Virgin, especially as it will be available on a pay-as-you-go basis.
But what will the Triumph have to offer? Let’s check out a detailed specs sheet:
- 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen display,
- VGA front-facing camera and 5-megapixel back camera with HD video capture
- super slim design – less than 0.4-inch thickness
- 1GHz processor
- up to 32GB of expandable memory
- HDMI support
- Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 support
- Android OS (version not mentioned yet, but hopefully Gingerbread)

The Triumph is also going to be “the first handset to come preloaded with the Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 app” which will get you access to the Virgin Mobile branded music stream, including free music streams, live music performance videos and “check-in” features at special events. Facebook and Twitter integration goes without saying, when it comes to this Virgin Mobile Live 2.0 social networking music app, but we’ll let you tell us how it all works once the Triumph becomes official.

What we don’t know though is whether the Triumph will run Android 2.2 Froyo or Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box, although we assume there’s some Gingerbread in the Triumph’s future. As for the near future of the Triumph, we have no idea when the phone will actually hit stores, although Sprint and Moto did say it Virgin will get it at some point in summer. Pricing is also unavailable at this point, but we’ll be back with more details about the Triumph once we have them.
