Acer & Samsung Chromebooks Now Up For Preorder
Samsung has been doing promotions for its Series 5 Chromebook the past few days. But now everyone in the US can preorder their Chromebook from either Acer or Samsung, starting at $380.

Samsung and Acer have announced that Chromebooks are now available for pre-order to anyone within the US. While both companies offer what is essentially a notebook that runs the cloud-based Chrome OS, you actually have a choice of four different models.
Acer’s Cromia series is the cheaper among the two brands. The Acer Cromia is an 11.6-inch Chromebook with a 1366×768 display, weighing 3.19 lbs. $379.99 gets you the Wi-Fi only version, while $449.99 gets you the 3G-enabled version.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Series 5 comes with a 12-inch 1280×800 pixel display and weighs 3.26 lbs. $429.99 gets you a Wi-Fi only version, while the 3G-enabled Series 5 costs $499.99.
Samsung’s Chromebooks come in either black or white, while Acer’s are only black colored. All models are powered by a dual-core Intel Atom N570 running at 1.66 GHz, and have 16GB SSD, 2GB DDR3 RAM and large trackpads that double as clickers.
Acer Cromia and Samsung Series 5 Chromebooks will start shipping to the general public by June 15.
