iPad 3.1 & iPad 3.2 Spotted in iOS 5
iOS 5 beta is already running on plenty of developers’ iOS devices, and like always with new OS releases from Apple we have various interesting tidbits to discover. Like the traces of iPad 3 that were find inside iOS 5, and by traces I mean USB devices profiles for the upcoming Apple tablet.

Apple made it pretty clear that 2011 is going to be the “year of the iPad 2” back in March when the tablet was unveiled, thus dismissing any rumors regarding an iPad 3 launch scheduled for later this year. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t expect iPad 3 traces in an iOS version that will only be released at some point in fall, or just a few months ahead of the announcement of the upcoming iPad model.
Now, what’s interesting about these profiles is that we’re looking at an iPad 3.1 and an iPad 3.2. One is the Wi-Fi version and the other one is the 3G version. Nothing out of the ordinary there, right? Wrong! As it so happens the current iPad 2 has three similar codenames: iPad 2.1, iPad 2,1 and iPad 2.3. Why three? Because the iPad 2 3G comes in two flavors, GSM and CDMA.
That means the next-gen iPad (3G version), as well as the next-gen iPhone, will come with world mode GSM+CDMA chips on board, which is something we kept hearing for a while now. That’s the only explanation for only spotting just two iPad 3 codenames in iOS 5, isn’t it?
On the other hand the iPhone 4S/5 also has two codenames, iPhone 4.1 and iPhone 4.2. So if Apple will indeed use dual GSM/CDMA radios, then why are there two iPhone 4S/5 models mentioned in deep inside iOS (starting with iOS 4.3 betas) ?
What’s also curios is the fact that no iPod touch 5G is being hinted by similar codenames so we can’t but wonder what Apple is going to be up to later this year. Keep following us on Twitter, Facebook or via the feed for more detailed news about the upcoming iPad 3, iPhone 4S/5 and iPod touch 5G, and, by all means, let us know what you think about these upcoming products.

I hope Real4G.com has their usual deals when the iPhone 5 (or whatever it’s gonna be called), gets released. And it seems a little early for iPad 3 rumors, but hey, I guess that’s how Apple gets our attention.
maybe with the shift of the iPhone event to the fall, the iPod touch is becoming a WiFi iPhone, besides there are rumors that the next iPod touch would have a SIM card slot.
