iOS 5 Jailbreak Already Obtained at Least for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 3G & 4G
iOS 5 became official yesterday with all its new features, and lucky developers, and basically anyone willing to pay Apple the $99 developer program fee, can now run iOS 5 on their iOS device. And just as expected, iOS 5 has already been jailbroken, the tethered way, right after launch.

Sure we’re talking about the beta version of the software, but, and I’m sure I told you this before, no matter what iOS update will come up with, current iOS devices, except for the iPad 2, will be jailbreakable for life, at least the tethered way, thanks to the current bootrom exploits that can’t be patched via software updates. That means the final iOS 5 version will also be jailbreakable on the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 4G and iPod touch 3G.
The iPad 2 and the upcoming iPhone 4S/5 or the iPod touch 5G, being all hardware refreshes, won’t be jailbreakable using current exploits, although I’m sure that the hackers involved in performing such “magic” will have different tools for the latest generation of iOS devices.
Apple can’t really stop the jailbreaking phenomenon, although it does control the whole unlocking process, at least for its latest iPhone. But considering some of the new features Apple launched yesterday, some people may not be interested in jailbreaking their iDevices anymore. In case you do it in order to pirate apps, then we certainly advise you to reconsider that position. After all, without developers getting paid for the hard work they put behind the creation of their best apps, what will motivate them to stick around and keep coming up with similar stuff in the future.
But we won’t go into a piracy-related polemic today, since the most important order of the day would be putting your mind at ease regarding the upcoming iOS 5. No, Apple didn’t magically find a way to plug the existing holes that let you jailreak your iDevices and do magical things with them.
