HTC ChaCha Gets a Processor Speed Boost
HTC earlier announced a couple of Facebook phones, one of which is the ChaCha. While the specs earlier quoted showed the smartphone would be powered by a 600MHz processor, official listings now have it at 800MHz.

HTC’s upcoming ChaCha is unique because of two things. First, it comes in a QWERTY monoblock form factor, which is wider than a candybar, but with a QWERTY keypad. This is not very commonplace in Android smartphones, and is reminiscent of how BlackBerry smartphones are designed. The ChaCha also has a dedicated Facebook button, which lets a user share items on the social network with a press of the button.
HTC earlier cited the specs of this touchscreen-QWERTY combo as having a 600MHz processor, but the official HTC ChaCha page now says it’s running at 800MHz. Some speculations have it that the speed boost is meant to make the HTC Sense user interface more fluid and responsive.
The HTC Salsa will start shipping late June in the UK, and comes with a price tag of £250. The ChaCha is coming to the US via AT&T although no pricing and availability date have been announced so far.
