E3 2011: Sony Ericsson Unveils The Xperia Play Experience Pack
With E3 well under way, it looks like Sony Ericsson has jumped in on the announcements with a goodie pack that may be enjoyed by Xperia Play users. The pack is called the Experience Pack and while it has been officially detailed on the sony Ericsson product blog, we are left wondering a few of the key details.

And by key details we are referring to the price, release date and places where you could make a purchase — all of which were left missing from the announcement post. That aside though, we can tell you what the pack includes.
Those who make the purchase can expect to find a few items including the DK300 Multimedia Dock, a pocket USB cable and a music cable that will allow you to connect the dock to your audio system. And while that alone sounds rather bland, there is another item included.
Well, technically three other items which come in the form of Gameloft games. Yup, the Experience Pack includes three ‘free’ Gameloft games. The catch with that, you have to pick those three games from a list of nine. The games you can choose from include;
- Assassin’s Creed™ – Altaïr’s Chronicles
- Uno™
- Real Football 2011
- Modern Combat 2 : Black Pegasus
- Let’s Golf! 2
- Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction™
- Brothers In Arms® 2: Global Front
- N.O.V.A. 2 – Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance
- Eternal Legacy
Otherwise, the fun part with the games, they are downloaded to your Xperia Play using an included QR code (along with a voucher and activation code). And with that, those who happen to be on the show floor at E3 can head on over to the Sony Ericsson stand to get a good look at the dock — and maybe find out the pricing for the Experience Pack.
My only question, Sony Ericsson called this the Experience Pack and it is for the Xperia Play — why did they not carry on the naming pattern with the missing ‘E’ and call this the Xperience Pack? Nonetheless, this looks like a nice option for those sporting an Xperia Play and still in need of a multimedia dock.
