Order & Chaos Nets Gameloft $1 Million in 20 Days
A couple of months ago, we told you about Gameloft’s new MMO for iPhone & iPad called Order & Chaos. It looks a startling amount like World of Warcraft but, as Gameloft already knows, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. In fact, Order & Chaos managed to pull in $1 million after being available for just 20 days, so it seems the plan to emulate WoW has worked out perfectly.

While Order & Chaos may not be all that original, the subscription model Gameloft came up with is a pretty attractive deal, and may be part of the reason it’s been so successful thus far. The game costs $6.99 to purchase, and that gets you a full three months of game time before you have to renew, which only costs $2.99 for an additional six months.
And barring the subscription model, it isn’t that hard to imagine why it’s as popular as it is. After all, it does appear to borrow a lot from World of Warcraft, which is only the reigning king of MMOs. Maybe I’m being a little too rough on it though. The idea of a portable MMO sounds pretty fantastic, and I’m sure a lot would agree that more World of Warcraft-style game play isn’t exactly a bad thing.
Still, I don’t think Gameloft’s really concerned with why it’s successful, just that it is successful. Did any of you pick it up when it launched back in April? Let know how you like Order & Chaos in the comments section below.
