Zinio Magazine App Now Available For Many Android Tablets

Zinio Launches For Android Tablets, Brings 20,000 Available Magazines To All Android 3.0 & Select Android 2.2 & 2.3 Tablets

It looks like Zinio has launched their magazine newsstand for Android, though before everyone gets super excited, there are some device limitations. That aside though, the release of the app comes with a few freebies. Or more specifically, it comes with 24 freebies.

First and foremost, the Zinio app is available by way of the Android Market and comes as version 1.05.3468 and requires 4.2MB of space for the installation. Though, the magazines will require some additional space. In terms of device support, that includes all Honeycomb tablets including the Motorola Xoom, LG Optimus Pad, Acer Iconia Tab a500, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and others as well as “select” Android 2.2 and 2.3 devices.

In terms of available titles, according to Zinio they offer more than 20,000 magazines and the nice part about using this app is you can manage and read all your subscriptions using one app as opposed to having an app for each magazine.

And speaking in terms of the 24 freebies, those come in the form of 24 magazines. In other words, Zinio is giving away some magazines in an effort to show you how nice their setup works. Unfortunately you cannot pick any specific titles, however with a total of 24 there should be at least a few that you find worthy of checking out. That said, the free titles include;

AFAR, BlackBook, Cosmopolitan, ELLE DECOR, ELLE, ESPN The Magazine, Esquire, Food Network Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar, Harvard Business Review, Home Theater, Juxtapoz, Marie Claire, Men’s Fitness, Men’s Journal, Motor Trend, O, The Oprah Magazine, Outdoor Photographer, Outside, Popular Mechanics, Road & Track, Robb Report, Rolling Stone, Seventeen and Us Weekly.

In order to claim those 24 free magazines — you will need to download the Zinio app and claim them before June 15th.

And lastly, some of the features of the Zinio app include;

  • Read full-color pages or text mode for simple reading.
  • Purchase full subscriptions for the best value, or buy single issues and find your new favorites.
  • Sync your entire library easily with your computer and other supported mobile devices.
  • Read with interactive features, rich media, and digital-only content in select magazines.
  • Magazines worldwide, published Canada, UK, Australia, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, Japan and more.
