PlayStation Network Down Update: PSN Network Services & Store Online, In Time for E3 [Sony Announces PlayStation Network Services Are Coming Back Up by Friday, Including the PSN Store & Qriocity]
The PlayStation Network outage scandal is far from over as Sony is yet to restore full service of its popular PSN services in various markets. It’s May 31 already and the PlayStation Store is not yet up, not to mention that certain users in certain Asian markets are still in the dark when it comes to PSN services.

But Sony came out today with a detailed press release in which it explains what’s going to happen next. It seems that the company is finally ready to fully restore its PSN environment across the globe by the end of the week and I’m sure it’s just a coincidence it wants everything up an running before this year’s E3 edition, which kicks off on June 7. That includes the PlayStation Store, which is certainly expected by some PlayStation customers, in-game commerce, full Qriocity functionality for PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PCs, full functionality on Media Go and the ability to redeem vouchers and codes.
Unfortunately not all customers will benefit from this full restoration of PSN services. If you live in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea then you’ll have to get ready for some extra waiting. In case you are a PSN account owner from the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and the rest of Asia, then you should definitely be excited to hear that by Friday your PSN universe will return, in full.
Once the PlayStation Store comes back up online you’ll be able to redeem your free services that Sony will offer via the “Welcome Back” package announced a while ago. Those apology packages differ from market to market, and we have showed you what Sony will have to offer, both when it comes to free content and identity theft counter measures, so you should definitely get ready to choose your favorite games by the end of this week.
Below you’ll find the full press release that announces the restoration of the PSN services, and we’re definitely looking forward for your comments on the matter.
