Apple Makes It Official; iCloud, iOS 5 & Lion Will Be Unveiled During WWDC On June 6th [Apple Makes The Pre-Announcement; OS X Lion, iOS 5 & iCloud Will Be Announced During The Worldwide Developers Conference]
Apple has offered up a bit of detail about what we can expect to see next week during the keynote address at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) and it looks like the rumored cloud offering will be happening. And taking that a bit further, the iCloud name was real.

The details are coming by way of an Apple press release, which means we are not dealing with any rumors here. Granted, there is still some speculation involved as to what exactly iCloud will be, but for now we know the details will be unveiled next week. According to the details, the iCloud will be “Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering.”
Otherwise, it looks like iOS 5 and Lion will also be unveiled. In short, we are fairly excited for next week to arrive so we can see what Apple has in store. In summary, this is what the press release had to say;
“Apple CEO Steve Jobs and a team of Apple executives will kick off the company’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) with a keynote address on Monday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. At the keynote, Apple will unveil its next generation software – Lion, the eighth major release of Mac OS X; iOS 5, the next version of Apple’s advanced mobile operating system which powers the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch; and iCloud, Apple’s upcoming cloud services offering.”
And with that, we are not so certain that we are going to be seeing any new hardware which is something that we have seen in the past with the iPhone. Of course, Apple could have a surprise up their sleeve, but at this time it looks like we are talking software. Anyone have any guesses or speculation as to what the iCloud will bring for users. Or more importantly, will the iCloud be able to knock some of the wind out of Amazon and their Cloud Drive/Cloud Player and Google with their Music Beta?
