Samsung Says 4G LTE Galaxy Tab To Hit Later This Year, Next Galaxy S To Follow [Samsung's J.K. Shin Spills Release Date Beans About Galaxy Tab 4G And Galaxy S III]
For those of you who got all intrigued after our own Chris Smith spilled the beans on a 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy Tab, but then got all let down when we didn’t know just when it was going to hit, prepare to get your hopes up, because we’ve got word now on just when you can look for it. And it’s closer than you think.

Word came out of no less a figure than Samsung’s own J.K. Shin, who got to talking about upcoming Samsung mobile gear. And the biggest news out of Shin was that the long-awaited and often-discussed Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G version would be hitting later this year. And, for those of you who favor Samsung in your smartphone, you’ll be seeing the third generation version of the Samsung Galaxy S (likely to be called the Galaxy S III), emerge in the first half of 2012 to boot.
Now, there’s something of an issue to Shin’s announcements, in that this new announcement will actually render the Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 somewhat obsolete if the launch goes as planned, so chances are most of you will want to hold off if you were considering a Galaxy Tab so that you can lay hands on the version with 4G, assuming you’ve even got access to a 4G market in the first place. Though if you do, it should make a terrific item to snag during the Christmas shopping frenzy.
It’s a little strange of Samsung to time its releases like this, especially when, in so doing, they render perfectly good and relatively new hardware obsolete, though considering the 4G network isn’t quite up to nationwide snuff just yet, it’s really not so big a surprise.
So what about you guys? Planning to wait for a 4G Galaxy Tab, or do you not see sufficient value from the extra feature to make the wait worthwhile? We’re waiting to hear from you down in the comments section, so head on down and tell us what you think!
