iPhone 4S Release Date Now Early August; iPhone 5/6 Launch Date Sometime in 2012 [New Rumors Reveal iPhone 4S Specs & Features; Promise Announcement Is Near But Most Likely Not at WWDC 2011?]

That’s right, folks, there’s one more iPhone 4S/5 rumor you should be aware of and we happen to have all the details for you. Today’s iPhone-realted news that should be picked up with another grain of salt tells us that Apple will launch the iPhone 4S in a few months while the iPhone 5 will come only later in 2012.

This new rumor comes from Asia, again, and is based on an anonymous source that probably felt like sharing some inside iPhone secrets with the world. Besides launch dates, which appear to late July or early August for the iPhone 4S and sometime in 2012 for the iPhone 5, we also have more details about the upcoming specs and features of this year’s new iPhone.

As expected the iPhone 4S will make use of an ARM Cortex A9 single-core/dual-core processor, which could be different than the one found on the iPad 2, and pack an 8-megapixel camera, as suggested by previous leaks. But considering the competition is already sporting dual-core processors in flagship Android smartphones we wouldn’t really want to see Apple still rely on a single-core CPU in its upcoming iPhone, would we?

We have a bunch of interesting details regarding the radios of the smartphone. Apple is said to incorporate 3-4 internal antennas that will let you use the handset anywhere in the world and the words “SIM-less design” have been used. It’s not the first time we hear Apple is considering ditching the SIM card, but last time we checked Orange was working together with Apple on creating even smaller microSIM cards. So this SIM-less design rumor doesn’t seem to be that believable for now.

As you can see we’re clearly looking at an iPhone 4S kind of refresh here and that means the next important iPhone, the iPhone 5, or better said the iPhone 6, will only arrive in 2012, quite possibly with LTE support on board, among other features.

We’ll certainly be waiting for WWDC 2011 to arrive since that’s the place Apple could be dropping some hints regarding the future of the iPhone, even if Steve Jobs and Co. will not actually announce it at Apple’s June event.

Your pouting like a little kid and for you to switch over just because they delayed their new phone release is quite foolish and juvenile. Obviously it’s being delayed for a reason, and that reason is to make this phone is as flawless and up to date as they can and if delaying the June release is going to make that happen so be it. I’d rather wait than sink money into a half ass phone that was rushed just for make a traditional deadline. And trust me, apple had plenty of money, losing your family wouldn’t make em blink an eye.

It’s not just the waiting that pisses me off. It’s all the silence. It’s one thing to wait for something you know will arrive soon, and another to wait for something that you have no idea when it will be available. I’ve waited for months for anything to come out of Apples mouth about the iphone 5 and I’m fed up. Their starting to become a slap in the face to me and a whole bunch of other people waiting to spend $300+ on their product. They could at least have some sort of decency.

OMG you all sound like spoiled little children. The iphone 4 was only released a year ago…which means for those of you that bought it your 2 year contract isn’t even up for an upgrade. Do you really need a new phone every 6 months!? I can find better things for you to do with your money and I’m sure those that can’t even afford an iphone would agree.

Let us all know how that works for you. I have had several Android phones on different networks and I can tell you they dont even come close to the Iphone. If you have never had the Iphone you would think Android is great but as you have had an Iphone you will be dissatisfied with Android.

Even though I would like an Iphone now since Verizon has them now, I’m not eligible for an upgrade til Nov 2011, so waiting for the Iphone 5 gives me something to look forward to then

If Apple doesn’t announce a new iPhone at WWDC, I’m switching to the Android platform. There are so many different phones to choose from. My only problem will be making up my mind between the Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Infuse 4g or the LG Thrill/Optimus 3d. I was an Apple fan boy, but Android and their phone partners are too tempting. Apple has a bit of catching up to do. Just my opinion.

The reason iOS is appealing to many customers is because it’s probably one of the most simple OS’s you can find. My parents are helpless when it comes to technology and while my mom has trouble figuring out her flip phone, my 54 year old dad is using iOS like it’s Windows or something. The only problem is how restricted the OS is. Old folks may be alright with this but for us teens and young adults, we want cooler phones. So going to Android might not be so bad considering things like the Evo have such a cool out-of-the-box OS.

If you don’t like the wait then switch and quit complaining. Complaining on here isn’t going to make Apple move any faster. There are plenty of satisfied iPhone users who will wait for the lastest version to appear. Android phones, while seeming to be great, have their flaws as does the iPhone but after using the Droid X I started to have problems with it’s processor. Just wait and be patient.

I have an iphone4 now… I surprisingly switched to a blackberry… But i cant let the iphone4 go!! :s so i decided to let it go… Get an ipod touch, wait for iphone5 not iphone4S (2011 one) and let blackberry and ipod go :P

I am a Apple Fan I had the 2g then i got the 3g but when 3gs came out there was no point as it was same phone looks wise. The Iphone 4 i had i used but swtich back to 3g but rumour is that the iphone 4s maybe same shape and look wise as the iphone 4 so what is the point getting it? because has better camera or processor? if you want camera you have a digital camera. I be waiting for Iphone 5 next year as it will be total different style and worth waiting for but Apple will produce new Ipad/Ipod/Iphone every year and half so how long can you keep following the trend? Rumour is that Ipad 3 will be HD? I missed the Ipad 1 but have the Ipad 2 and will not get the 3 and wait for 4 to come out. Apple is just rushing getting the products out so they can get money in. If your Iphone/Ipad works why not wait for next few years when whole different generation of phones coming out!

Apple! You chose to make my 3G obsolete with the OS4, but I stuck with it because the upgrades were so very worth it. My 3G now crashes, hangs, freezes, and the GPS is virtually useless, but I rely on the updates included in OS4. I’m also out of memory on the tiny 3G 16gb, when all those HTC’s and other Droid phones come with expandable SD memory. My contract is now eligible for an upgrade and I’ve held off on getting an iPhone 4 because everyone has kept telling me to wait for the iPhone 5, it will be out soon. Now I hear that it might be pushed back to NEXT year with only a 4G/S upgrade this year?! Seriously?!

So I have had my iphone 3 for quite a while, and it has been jailbroken and unlocked. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I have had every intention of waiting to get the Iphone 5 because normally AT&T releases them in the summer, however with this push back date I am a little frustrated. I recently just cracked my screen, and need something new. Would it be wise to get the current iphone 4, or wait for the Iphone 4s?

There’s only speculation on that one for now: A5 chip (like in the iPad 2), bigger screen (possibly edge-to-edge), 8-megapixel camera, CDMA/GSM support, smaller micro-SIM…

Dont care about a smaller sim or even it going simless. Majority of countries in the world still use a SIM type system. This means, I cant slide my SIM from the Philippines into my Iphone 4. Edge to edge would be cool. I heard it wont have the home button anymore, and word on that?

I’ve had every iPhone that’s ever been released as well as many WM Phones, a few N Series Nokia phones and a few oddballs in-between. I gotta say that the iPhone is hands down the best phone/mobile devise/handheld computer on the planet, Bar-none. Not to mention a work of modern art. It’s sleek, it’s cool, it’s unique, it stands alone in a community of rivals that always seem to be a few steps behind. While Apple is infamous for their delays and I don’t agree with some of their ways the product itself is the best money can buy. That’s because they use feedback from the “i” community to design what we want from this little wonder. YOU CAN’T RUSH PERFECTION!! Now if you wanna switch because you didn’t get what you want when you wanted it then change your diaper & settle for a “Hello Moto” because your not ready to run with the Big Dogs yet. RUFF RUFF! 

iPhone 4s/5 whatever it’s called, will come out when it comes out. If your phone is broken then get the iPhone 4. Do you really have to have the freshest technology out? I’ve still got the 3gs. It crashes daily, which is annoying, but the phone functions so I’ll wait a little while. Whichever phone comes out in August/September I will get and use, until it crashes daily, then I’ll get the iphone 5s/6, whatever it will be called.

I need a RELIABLE, STABLE platform for my cell phone, PDA, music-playing, picture-taking, file-storing, app-running, eye-catching all-in-one gadget. This ‘it hangs and has to be re-started several times a day’ stuff is really unacceptable. I hope the 4s is a solid tool I can use for business and personal goals. I’ll be looking to upgrade when it comes out. (Blackberry Tour user now).

What a whiny bunch of spoiled children… give me, give me now! The iPhone 4 is roughly a year old, merely months into the Verizon system and still you can’t wait for the newest version of an expensive toy. I don’t have money to throw around in this current economy as many of you brats on here seem to have. Honestly, I’ve been trudging along with a 3G all this time simply because my upgrade didn’t go into effect until the 4G was just announced and after losing my job I just kept working threw with it… and yes, it’s a crashing nightmare now and I finally broke my screen. With a new job now I can afford that upgrade and changeover to Verizon, AT&T SUCKS in San Francisco! I hope they wait as long as possible for that iPhone 5… I’ll skip the 4S which is the way they should continue releasing versions. There will be a lot more pissed off people like myself if they keep releasing major upgrades while we’re stuck in that 2 year contract. I’m really just amazed at what a throwaway nation we’ve become full of elitists who can only function if the have the latest, greatest of anything. My 25 cents worth… damn economy even eats at giving an opinion!

Dont buy the latest rumors. Earlier this year and late last year, the most credible info suggested the iPhone 4GS or 5 would be released in the fall,. likely September or October 2011.
Now, let’s remember that iOS 5 is debuting in the fall. Logic dictates and history as well that Apple will launch the devices at the same time….FALL 2011. And Apple really does not have to fear Samsung. In Canada for example, the majority of smartphones are now Apple and Samsung has always been problematic with Windows and Desktops. The Andorid Apps also tend to be problematic as developers have compatibility issues in dealing with many different devices.
Bottom line: dont expect the iPhone 4GS, 4S or whatever the next gen is going to be called before Labor Day.

I was just hoping that Apple was releasing a new phone every year, like they have done untill now. So i could get a iPhone 5 now my 2 year contract is over for a few months now.
I think my 3G has to stay on for a few more months.
Conclusion: even in the Netherlands we are waiting for the goodies Steve Jobs is to release in his own tempo, and nobody can change this.

so, im guessing this means the iphone 4S wont be 4G capable? my contract expired in may and i was waiting cause i really wanted a 4G compatible iphone and, at the time, figured i’d be waiting til september at the latest for such a device. the only bit of information i need at this point is: 1) how much is the iphone 4S is expected to cost (just a ball park estimate) and 2) verification that the iphone 4S will not be 4G capable. any info on this would be appreciated. thanks.
