HP TouchPad QuickSpecs Manual Leaks, Hints At June 12th Release [HP TouchPad QuickSpecs Guide Suggests June 12 Worldwide Release, We Remain Skeptical But Hopeful]

HP seems to be getting their name out more and more lately. Granted a fair amount of that has been in regards to the Veer 4G and some of the crazy promoting they have been doing, but hey, its all webOS on the inside right. Anyway, speaking in terms of the TouchPad tablet, something that has only been mentioned in leaks and rumors as of late. Well, low and behold — we have another TouchPad related leak.

This latest has come in the form of the “QuickSpecs” guide, which is a simply four page document that offers a look at the specs of the device. The QuickSpecs guide is aimed at business customers and resellers and also includes items such as model numbers and available accessories.

Anyway, while all of that sounds great — it does not reveal anything that we have not already seen in an official capacity. That being said, there was one line on the guide that we have not seen before — what could be the release date.

“Worldwide — Version 1.0 — June 12, 2011″

Of course, to play both sides of the fence here, we hope this is the release date but we remain rather skeptical. In terms of not getting excited, this could be a publication date for the QuickSpecs guide. It could also be the date that HP had expected (or hoped) to release the TouchPad, which would mean that this is an old and outdated guide at this point.

Bottom line, take this along with the previous retail related rumors and one thing seems clear — the release may not happen on June 12th, but it does appear to be coming sooner rather than later. And if nothing else, we do have to look forward to the TouchPad being released if for no other reason than to see how HP plans to make it “number one plus.”
