Computex 2011: MSI Shows Off The WindPad 100W & 100A Tablets
This is not the first time we have heard mention of the WindPad name, however MSI has chosen Computex to properly unveil the WindPad 100W and WindPad 100A tablets. And as one might suspect from the lettering in the names, the 100W is a Windows tablet and the 100A is an Android tablet.

Sadly though, similar to many of the other Computex announcements that we saw this morning — these have yet to be priced or given a release date. That said, MSI did offer a fair amount in terms of specs for both devices.
Lets first begin with the WindPad 100A, which is running a yet to be specified version of Android. According to the press release, the 100A will have “the latest Google Android operating system.” Other specs of the 100A include an ARM Cortex Z9 dual core processor, 1GB DDR II RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and an SSD drive with “up to” 32GB of storage. In other words, it sounds like we will be seeing the 100A in a 16GB and 32GB storage capacity.
The WindPad 100W will come running Windows 7 and is going to be powered by an AMD Brazos dual core processor, sporting AMD Radeon HD6250 graphics, 2GB DDR II RAM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and up to 64GB of SSD based storage. Other features of the 100W include a G-Sensor, ALS light sensor and a battery life of up to 6 hours which MSI is touting as being “the longest of any tablet with Windows architecture.”
Otherwise, both models will have ports to include an SD card reader, USB, mini HDMI. In terms of the display, that will be 10 inches for both models and it will have a 1280 x 800 resolution and will be IPS touting how it will be “completely viewable from every angle.” And lastly, both models will have the latest generation SRS PC sound.
