Computex 2011: Asus Eee Pad MeMO 3D Officially Announced [Asus Eee Pad MeMO 3D Will Feature A 7" IPS Glassesless 3D Display & Arrive Running Android 2.3 Honeycomb]

Coming along side the Eee PC X101 and the Padfone, Asus has also unveiled the Eee Pad MeMO 3D during day one of Computex 2011. And while we saw the previous two products teased at a bit in the lead up to the tradeshow, we saw some rumored specs and details for the Eee Pad MeMO.

In other words, the good part is that this device is now official however some of these specs may sound rather familiar. That being said, according to Asus;

“The Eee Pad MeMO 3D is designed to be an alternative take on the 10″ tablet that is fast becoming a standard size. This portrait-oriented device uses a screen that can also be used more traditionally with all Android Honeycomb applications, should users choose to do so.”

The Eee Pad MeMO 3D is going to be a 7 inch tablet and one that is sporting a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution in a IPS glasses-free 3D capacitive touchscreen display. In addition, the MeMO will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread and be controllable using a built-in digital stylus.

And while a good amount of the specs are missing, so is the pricing and release date. In other words, the Eee Pad MeMO 3D was unveiled in true Asus fashion. It also means that we will still end up seeing more rumors and speculation despite having this officially announced. Otherwise, Asus did make mention that the MeMO 3D would be shipping with the MeMIC Bluetooth headset that will work both for calls and music.

That said, it looks like the Eee Pad MeMO 3D is going to be a crazy mix of the HTC Flyer with its stylus and the T-Mobile G-Slate with its 3D display, though while we will have to wait and see in terms of the stylus usage, the Eee Pad MeMO does have one thing going above the G-Slate — no glasses required.
