NetherRealm to Offer Mortal Kombat Pre-Order Bonuses as Paid DLC

First Mortal Kombat DLC Releases June 7, Includes Classic Costumes & Fatalities For a Handful of Fighters

Bummed out because you got stuck with the classic Kitana costume when you really wanted the classic Reptile costume as your pre-order bonus for Mortal Kombat? We can argue endlessly about what’s better – boobs or lizard-men – but the fact is that those who pre-ordered Mortal Kombat from one retailer missed out on the sweet pre-order bonuses being offered by all the others, and those who picked it up on the fly without some money already down missed out on all of them.

So, what’s a down-on-his-luck kombatant to do? Wait until June 7, that’s what, as NetherRealm has revealed that they’ll be offering all of the pre-order only classic costumes in one single DLC pack. The catch is that you’ll have to pay for the pack; you’re not getting these handed to you like those who pre-ordered. The good news, however, is that the pack is only going to cost you $5, which is pretty good deal when you consider how much is included with it.

Speaking of what’s included: the classic costumes for Jade, Mileena, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Ermac, Scorpion, and Reptile are available in this pack, and it unlocks the classic fatalities for Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Reptile. If you’re on the fence, check out the trailer below and see what you think (fair warning: Ermac is totally awesome).

This is the first DLC releasing for the recently rebooted fighting game, with more on the way. The classic costume DLC pack will be up on XBLA and PSN on June 7 (hopefully the PlayStation Store is back up by then). Are you picking this one up, or are you happy enough the classic costume(s) you snagged with your pre-order?
