iOS 5, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, iCloud, Back to School iPad & No iPhone 4S/5 Coming at WWDC 2011?
Just a few days ago we told you that some journalists in the UK were invited to attend the June 6 keynote at WWDC 2011 (which we’re going to thoroughly cover for you like we did in the past) and now we find out the same thing happened across the ponds, in Australia.

Apple PR has done it again, reportedly, as it issued various invites to certain technology reporters to attend the same keynote. One such guy is Charlie Brown, and he has tweeted, despite better judgment, that something big must be coming from Apple considering that he has been invited to the event. He said, before deleting the tweet in question:
I think something big will be announced on June 6 in San Fran, by #Apple. I have just been invited to attend the event :)
When we talked about the invites in the UK we immediately dismissed the WWDC iPhone 4S / iPhone 5 announcement rumors which they sparked. In retrospect Apple never said it would not announce the new iPhone at WWDC. But it implied it by suggesting that the event will be mostly centered around iOS 5 and Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, two very important products being launched this year. And, I dare say, they’re big enough for tech journalists to want to cover them live from San Francisco.
Add to that the possibility of Apple launching its own iCloud music streaming service, not to mention that special iPad & Mac Back to School promotion (which will be available only in the USA though) and you get even more important potential announcements coming at WWDC 2011.
But while in previous years I have always been sure a new iPhone was coming out in June, this year there’s too much circumstantial evidence to point otherwise. And by that I mean those rumors we show you on a regular basis about the future iPhone. Whether it’s the iPhone 4S or the iPhone 5, unofficial sources keep leaking details about it including the fact that it will enter production only later in summer and therefore launch only in September, or later. Now rumors and leaks are never 100% correct, but some of them, just like legends, are built on some shade of the truth.
