Verizon's Big Day: The LG Revolution, HTC Trophy, Motorola Droid X2 & Sony Ericsson Xperia Play All Come Available

Verizon Launching Four Smartphones Today, Includes The Game Oriented Xperia Play, WP7 Running Trophy & Android Based Revolution & Droid X

We knew today was coming, and it seems to go without saying that many Verizon (and probably some non-Verizon) users were waiting. Today is May 26th, also known as a rather nice smartphone launch date for Verizon, who have not one or two devices coming available — but four.

With that, just to offer the reminder. Today will see the official in-store launch of the HTC Trophy, Motorola Droid X2, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play and the LG Revolution.

Lets begin with the HTC Trophy. This handset is a Windows Phone 7 device and will arrive sporting a 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 16GB of internal storage, GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash. In terms of pricing, the Trophy is $149.99 on a two-year agreement.

Next up is the Motorola Droid X2 which is running Android 2.2 Froyo and sporting a 4.3 inch qHD display that is both “scratch-resistant and anti-reflective.” Other features of the Droid X2 include a dual-core 1GHz processor, HDMI out with Mirror Mode, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot and an 8 megapixel camera with continuos auto-focus and HD video recording. The Droid X2 is priced at $199.99 on a two-year agreement.

Moving on and well come to the Android 2.3 Gingerbread running Sony Ericsson Xperia Play. The Xperia Play also has features to include a 4 inch display, slide-out game pad controller, 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon II processor with Adreno 205 GPU, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera, VGA quality front facing camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot. The Xperia Play will set you back $199.99 on a two-year agreement.

And last but not least, the LG Revolution. This handset comes priced at $249.99 on a two-year agreement and has features to include a 4.3 inch display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, GPS, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5 mm headphone jack, a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, rear facing 5 megapixel camera and is running Android 2.2 Froyo. Additionally, the Revolution is also the first to come pre-loaded with the Netflix application. And lastly, for better or worse, we should point out that the Revolution is a Bing Search and Bing Maps device.
