iPhone 4S Coming at WWDC 2011 Ahead of iPhone 5 Release?
We’re getting closer and closer to the WWDC 2011, where Apple is going to tell us more about the future of iOS and Mac OS X, according to its previous press release as well as to the general consensus between most media outlets out there.

The next-gen iPhone, iPhone 4S or iPhone 5, should be unveiled at a later event in September, again, according to most rumors that place the launch of the fifth iPhone in fall 2011, but today we hear a different rumor. According to some UK sources it would seem that Apple PR is specifically interested in getting “selected British journalists” to attend to Apple’s WWDC 2011 so they can witness the iPhone 4S launch.
The assumption here is that Apple will launch a major product in San Francisco, hence the need of major publications from the UK to cover the event. And what major device other than the iPhone 4S/5 could be launched, at least according to the same source? Well, this is well we call bullshit folks, as the conclusions drawn by Electric Pig are pretty far-fetched, with no actual proof ready to back them up.
Yes, Apple is going to launch a major product at WWDC. In fact we’re expecting at least two, if not three of them: iOS 5, Mac OS X Lion, and the new iCloud music streaming service with the first two being obvious favorites. And yes, we do agree that an iPhone 4S announcement taking place at WWDC would cause quite a stir among Apple customers and rivals. But Apple is a well-oiled machine that also happens to control the iDevice rumor mill out there at best it can. And all rumors out there say that no new iPhone is going to be introduced at WWDC 2011, so why would Apple go through so much trouble to convince people the next iPhone is coming in September only to launch it now?
We’d be really interested to hear more about those UK journalists that Apple PR is interested in bringing to San Francisco, although last time I checked, Apple does quite okay with building hype around its products before, during and after its media events, even without certain journalists being actually present at these events. The best example here would be the Gizmodo band that’s currently banned from such Apple media events following last year’s iPhone 4 bar scandal. So therefore, why would Apple PR want to make sure certain UK journalists are there at all costs?
Your thoughts on the arrival of the iPhone 4S / iPhone 5 are definitely welcomed either in the comments section below or via Facebook.

Think about it! All along every post i have read about the iphone says Apple loves to release iOs updates with new product ex. iPhone 4 with iOS 4,iPhone 3GS with iOS 3, iPhone 3G with iOS 2, and the original iPhone with iOS 1. does anybody see i pattern developing. The Apple “rumor mill” that apple controls has everybodys head so far up there neighbors ass they will take anythin apple feeds them. Apple has told everyone iOS 5 is coming at WWDC so it makes since that they would release there flagship along with it instead of like other reports are saying ditching the iPhone 3GS and only supporting 1 device on the billion dollar iOS for 4-6 months. Like i said think about it!
Of course nobody said that iOS 5 will be available to download on June 6. Let’s not forget that last year Apple unveiled iOS 4 in April, then made it available in June to the public once the iPhone 4 was unveiled and only brought it to the iPad in November instead of the promised September date. Think about it.
Ding ding ding ding
@ Chris and David
You must work for apple and are shittin in your pants right now that someone figured out your “PR machine”
they wanted people to thing that it was not coming out for awile so people would just go ahead and buy an iphone 4 and not wait it out. The quiest way to kill a curent product sales is to let everone know that a new, better, faster one will be right around the corner. marketing 101 do not let people know about the next best thing wile you are trying to extend the sale of last years model!
Just returned a broken out of warranty iPhone 3G to Apple store, told them I did not want to renew with AT&T -hated their horrible customer service, continued dropped calls & I have been without a contract for over a year & wanted an upgrade to hold me over until Apple releases iPhone with their own cellular service. I received a 3GS at no cost, no contract and was told I was lucky because they checked & I was only 2 days outside of my warranty. I never had a warranty other than the standard 1 yr that comes with the phone….3 years ago. Think about that.
