Rumor: Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker PS3 Announcement Coming At E3 [Could Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Be A Candidate For Sony's Newly Announced PSP Remaster Series? We May Find Out At E3]

Over the weekend, Sony announced their PSP Remasters series, which will launch this summer in Japan and bring PSP titles to PS3 with with an HD makeover and support for DualShock 3 (among other things). While they’ve only revealed one title for the PSP Remasters series – Monster Hunter Portable 3rd – there are a lot of fans out there who are already looking to the future, and pretty much all of them want to see Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker come to PS3.

Well, those wants and desires may not be that far withdrawn from reality, as new rumors are saying that Sony will announce a PS3 version of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at E3 this year. Like most rumors pertaining to an upcoming announcement, this one is painfully devoid of any real details, but if it’s true, you can expect Peace Walker PS3 to support cross-platform save files and HD graphics (and maybe even stereoscopic 3D).

Peace Walker is one of the PSP’s critical darlings and fan favorites, holding down a solid 89 on Metacritic. It’s also a prime candidate for the PSP Remasters series, because hey, most of the other Metal Gear games have been on one of Sony’s home consoles.

Whether this rumor is true or not, we’re going to have to wait until E3 to find out. Hopefully we’ll be getting something big from Sony regardless, considering that they and Microsoft both have to compete with Nintendo and their Project Cafe reveal. Any way you slice it, we’re in for a good E3 this year, and you’ll be able to get all the E3 2011 coverage you could ever want right here at TFTS.
