Conde Nast Announces Wired & GQ Subscriptions For The iPad

Wired & GQ Magazine Subscriptions Now Available For The iPad, $1.99 Per Month Or $19.99 Per Year

We knew these were coming, but at the same time it is nice to see it actually happen — Conde Nast has officially made Wired and GQ magazine subscriptions available for the iPad. Not to mention, they have come available at a seemingly fair price for both current print subscribers and also those looking to go all digital.

The subscriptions are set to begin with the current issue of each magazine, which will be the June 2011 issue. And nicely done, there are options available for those wishing to pay monthly as well as annually. Though, the monthly option is a bit more expensive. Those looking to subscribe can do so by way of in-app purchases. Of course, that means you will first need to download the Wired and/or GQ apps from the App Store. And worry not, the apps are free to download. As for the price of the subscriptions, that comes at $1.99 on a monthly basis or $19.99 on an annual basis. In addition, those looking for a single issue will also be happy as they will remain available (priced at $3.99).

Otherwise, those who currently subscribe (or are planning to subscribe) to the regular print edition will also be able to read the iPad edition. And perhaps the icing on that cake, those who subscribe to the print edition will be able to read the iPad edition at no additional cost. And for those wondering the print subscriptions can be found on the respective websites and will set you back $19.99 per year. Given that, it seems to me that if you want the digital edition and think you may like to read a paper edition from time to time — subscribe to print and get the iPad edition free.

With that, those interested in subscribing will need to make sure they have the latest version of the iPad apps which is 3.0 for both Wired and GQ.
