iPad 2 Jailbreak Coming from Chronic Dev Team? Soon?

Just a week ago we were telling you that the iPad 2 jailbreak could arrive at some point in the following weeks, and today we have an update on the matter coming from the Chronic Dev Team, which are basically the hackers that are responsible for that GreenPois0n tool you might have used to jailbreak some of your current iOS devices.

The Chronic Dev Team seems to have been motivated by last week’s tweets coming from p0sixninja to jailbreak the new iPad 2, and while we don’t have any official release date for the next GreenPois0n tool that would be able to crack the iPad 2 we do know they’re working on it:

As I’m sure many people have heard, Josh (p0sixninja) has recently been quoted saying the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming in “weeks”, I know I have been very publicly abrasive and non-commital on giving any kind of timeframe or comment on this matter, but at the behest of Josh (in conjunction with his need for a swift kick to the ass for motivation) we’re ALL going to hold him to that!!! I’m not going to get into extensive detail about this, but what I will say one of the missing puzzle pieces may have reared its head and cast a glance in our direction… take from that what you will.

The Chronic Dev Team will also update its GreenPois0n to jailbreak iOS 4.3.x devices, and that makes plenty of sense considering that Apple’s recent iOS updates are running on most iPads out there, especially the ones currently sold in stores. So jailbreaking all iPad 2 units will require the Chronic Dev Team to actually be able to jailbreak the latest iOS versions out there.
