Bethesda Reveals Oblivion Fifth Anniversary Edition
You may be gearing up to head into the province of Skyrim later this year, but before you do, Bethesda wants to take you back to 2006 and remember a more innocent time. A time when this console generation was new and exciting, and a time when Oblivion looked so cool, you thought we had reached the pinnacle of gaming.

Truth is, Oblivion hasn’t aged well. Don’t get me wrong, Oblivion is one of my favorite games, but going back to it now in 2011 can be a little bit rough. Nevertheless, Bethesda is going to give Oblivion one more spin, offering up a 5th Anniversary Edition of the title that’s packed with extras at a bargain price.
The Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition comes with a copy of Oblivion GOTY, which includes the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions. Sorry, but there’s no Horse Armor to be had here. Also included is a DVD of extras, a map of Cyrodiil, and, perhaps the best part about the Oblivion 5th Anniversary Edition, a $10 off card for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
With a price tag of $29.99, this is the edition to buy if you missed Oblivion the first three times around, or if you just need a shot of nostalgia to tide you over until Skyrim. From the looks of it, the game is releasing for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and while there’s been no official release date announcement, some retailers have it listed for a June 28 release.
