HTC Trophy WP7 Smartphone Will Be Available With Verizon On May 26th
Coming this morning Verizon has officially ended another series of rumors and at the same time further cemented May 26th as being a rather large launch day. The latest handset is the HTC Trophy, which is a Windows Phone 7 device and it will be available online starting on May 26th.

And just to try and keep track here, it looks like the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Motorola Droid X2 and the LG Revolution will also be launching on the 26th. Of course, those are all running Android. That being said, lets shift the focus back to the HTC Trophy and Windows Phone 7.
The Trophy will be available online on the 26th and then available for in-store purchases beginning on June 2nd. The handset is priced at $149.99, though that is AFTER a $50 mail-in-rebate and along with a two-year agreement.
In addition and coming as a special perk for those buying the Trophy with Verizon before July 15th — you will get a free Xbox 360 console game. Sadly though, that free game has to be picked from a rather short list which includes Halo: Reach, Kinect Sports and Lode Runner.
Otherwise, in terms of features, the HTC Trophy is sporting a 3.8 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 1GHz Snapragon processor, 16GB of internal storage, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash and Surround sound by way of SRS WOW HD. The Trophy is also noted as being a global ready device which means support for voice and data service in more than 200 countries.
All said and done, the Trophy seems to be a decent handset, and if nothing else it will be nice to have something running Windows Phone 7 available with Verizon. Still, in the end I am not sure I could commit to the Trophy at this point given the specs. Sure they are decent, however they are the same as what WP7 launched with a while back. In other words, it almost seems time to start rolling out the second generation WP7 devices.
