HP TouchPad 32GB Priced at $599 with Walmart, Release Date Unknown

First webOS HP Tablet Launching Soon; Walmart to Sell 32GB Model for $599

Best Buy will sell the HTC Flyer later this week but Walmart is getting ready for something a little more interesting, the first webOS tablet in the world, HP’s TouchPad. The tablet has been made official a few days before MWC 2011, where we did get a hands-on preview of the device for you guys, and it’s going to hit stores soon.

A recently leaked screenshot of Walmart’s inventory reveals the fact that the HP TouchPad Wi-Fi, the 32GB version, will sell for $599, thus matching the price of the 32GB iPad Wi-Fi, in case it this is of any importance to potential TouchPad buyers.

HP will also have a 16GB version of the Wi-Fi tablet, probably selling for $499, although we have no idea when or if Walmart will also have it in store. As for the 3G TouchPad version, we expect it to be available only later this year so the Wi-Fi model will have to do for now.

The HP TouchPad is a 9.7-inch tablet that will sport a 1,024 x 768 resolution display, 1.3 front-facing camera for video calls, but no back camera for taking pictures or recording video, 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 16GB/32GB memory, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0 microUSB connector, 3.5mm headset jack, AGPS and 3G (only for the 3G version) and HP’s webOS mobile platform.

Walmart will also sell a bunch of accessories for the TouchPad, a Touchstone Dock/Stand which is priced at $79.88, with two sets of inductive charging and communication coils that will make possible docking the tablet both in portrait and landscape mode, a webOS Bluetooth keyboard, priced at $69.88, a TouchPad that will cost $49.88 and a charger that will set you back $29.88.

All we need now is a release date for this tablet and we’ll be good to go. Anyone picking up an HP TouchPad in the near future?
