iPhone 5 / iPhone 4S Case Pulled From Chinese Website; Real or Fake?
A few days ago we’ve seen the first case for the upcoming iPhone 5/4S get leaked. Naturally the leak originates from Asia, just like previous similar Apple-related leaks, and this particular design already suggests a few specific specs and features for the next Apple handset: the relocation of the LED flash, a larger edge-to-edge display, and a certain overall design similarity with the iPhone 4.

To add to the rumor we’ve also seen new images of the upcoming cameras for the iPhone 5/4S in which the back camera wasn’t coming with an attached LED flash like the current iPhone 4 camera does. That still didn’t mean the images we were looking at were genuine, even if leaked by sources that have come up with dependable leaks in the past.
But today we get one more proof that the case we saw just a few days ago could be the real deal. The case appeared on Alibaba, a Chinese website that hosted similar leaks in the past, and just like in other similar situations, the case was removed.
Before the iPad 2 launch, Alibaba revealed various details about the next-gen tablet thanks to new iPad 2 case designs that made it to the website. Those images were later pulled after Apple’s intervention so we could assume the same thing happened again, although there’s nothing to point us in that direction yet.
The iPhone 5, which could be called the iPhone 4S after all, is expected to be introduced officially by Apple at some point in September and hit stores thereafter. Currently we have conflicting reports regarding the future specs and features of the next-gen iPhone and of its resemblance with the iPhone 4, but considering that we have over three months to go until Apple finally announces the new smartphone we expect to see even more revealing leaks and rumors, so stay close for more iPhone 5/4S news.
