Windows Phone 7.5 Mango, It Looks Like Some Additional Features Have Been Revealed
These past few weeks have been fairly good in terms of Windows Phone 7 updates. The end of April brought us the news that the “Mango” software update was going to come available as Windows Phone 7.5 and then in the beginning of May we learned what some of the new features will include.

And well, flash forward another week and it looks like we are going to be seeing plenty more in terms of new features when Windows Phone 7.5 officially launches. The latest details come by way of the Windows Phone Dev Podcast who have not only uncovered some of the details, but have done so with the screenshots.
Anyway, without any further adieu, the newest Mango features include;
- integration with Facebook Chat (as well as with Windows Live Messenger).
- Office 365 with support for both SkyDrive and SharePoint
- an overhaul of the Games/Xbox hub with some Sync options being noted in the Settings page.
- Group Messaging that will allow for text or emails to be sent to an entire group.
- the lockscreen now being able to display the Now Playing information.
All said and done, probably nothing that anyone would consider a make or break feature, but at the same time these seem to be nice additions to what we are already expecting. Of course, the catch here, we have yet to hear the official confirmation come from Microsoft. In other words, while these screenshots seem to be the real deal and they have come from a reliable source, things can still change.
And just in case anyone missed our previous Mango related post, those other features included goodies such as Bing Vision, Bing Audio, on-device podcast support, voice dictation and perhaps the biggie — turn-by-turn navigation.
With that, we are starting to get a bit more excited in terms of the future of Windows Phone 7 and these new Mango features combined with what we are hoping to see in terms of Nokia may make for a nice combination of hardware and software.
