iPad 2 Jailbreak Release Date Scheduled for the Following Weeks?

Yesterday we doubted the fact the next iPad 2 jailbreak could actually cost any money once it came out, as some rumors across the web started to assume, and today we seem to have some more reliable information regarding the status of the upcoming iPad 2 jailbreak.

The iPad 2 is the only device out there that can’t be jailbroken with current jailbreak methods as Apple made sure it patched the holes that make current jailbreak tools work on all other iDevices out there. That’s why, even if it was initially jailbroken, the iPad 2 final jailbreak tool is taking so much time to come out.

CultOfMac reports today that famous jailbreaker p0sixninja, whom we’ve talked about in past jailbreak-related articles, has apparently confirmed that an iPad 2 jailbreak will be available in the next few weeks, without actually providing a release date for the new jailbreak tool:

It will [supposedly] be similar to jailbreaks that we’ve recently seen, where you have to put your device into DFU mode for the jailbreak to begin, where blackra1n and spirit were 1-click jailbreaks. It’s also said that this jailbreak will be compatible iOS 4.3 and above.

Considering that in about three weeks from now Apple will unveil iOS 5, without actually releasing it, as I’d assume iOS 5 will only be available once Apple launches the iPhone 5 later this fall, it’ll be interesting to see whether the iPad 2 jailbreak will come out before, or after WWDC. Hackers could always wait for the first iOS 5 beta to come out, or even the final iOS 5 version before releasing the iPad 2 jailbreak.

On the other hand p0sixninja did say that the jailbreak will be compatible with iOS 4.3 and above, and thus we assume they’re already thinking about iOS 5 compatibility also.
