HTC ChaCha & Salsa Facebook Phones Now Available For Pre-Order With Amazon UK

Those who happen to be in the UK that may have been itching to spend their money on a Facebook phone can now move forward with a pre-order on either the HTC ChaCha or the HTC Salsa. The dedicated Facebook button having smartphones are available by way of Amazon UK and come priced at £250 (about $410 US) for the ChaCha and £320 (about $525 US) for the Salsa. And nicely, those prices are unsubsidized and contract free.

Otherwise, both handsets are noted as coming with free delivery to the UK and are expected to ship on June 26th. Of course, there is the standard pre-order warning that “the release dates are subject to change.” In other words, that June 26th date could possibly change.

Anyway, aside from the pricing and shipping date, there is nothing else new in terms of either model. The ChaCha (pictured above) and the Salsa (pictured below) are made by HTC and are both sporting a dedicated Facebook button that “lets you share just about anything with just one touch.” In addition, the ChaCha and the Salsa are both running Android with HTC’s Sense user interface on top.

The ChaCha specs include a 2.6 inch (480 x 320) touchscreen display, hardware QWERTY keyboard, 600MHz processor, 1250 mAh battery, a weight of 120 grams and measurements of 114.4 x 64.6 x 10.7 mm. The Salsa features a 3.4 inch (480 x 320) touchscreen display, 600MHz processor, 1520 mAh battery, a weight of 120 grams and measurements of 109.1 x 58.9 x 12.3 mm.

In addition, both handsets are sporting 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, microSD card slot, microUSB, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, front facing VGA quality camera and a rear facing 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash.

All said and done, neither of the phones are all that spectacular in terms of specs, but at the same time neither are all that expensive in terms of SIM-free unlocked phones.
