iPad 2 Sells Out in China Within 4 Hours
Apple launched the iPad 2 in 12 additional countries over the week, particularly in Asia. As expected, people have flocked to Apple stores en masse to get their hands on the iPad 2.

At Apple’s flagship  Beijing store in Sanlitun, the iPad 2 was said to be a hit, selling out in just four hours. Of course, many customers had camped out as long as a day before the actual launch. Some lucky ones didn’t have it so bad, though, as Apple offered overnight accommodations, and customers on queue wore wristbands to identify their place and position in the line. The wristbands enabled those in the queue to take one-hour breaks, within which they can return to their places.
The China launch was only for the Wi-Fi model, though, and the 3G iPad 2 models were notably absent from the launch. We suppose Apple is still trying to make a deal with local carriers for either a subsidy or for subscription plans.
If you’re in China, and you missed the launch, you can always order online from the Apple Store. There’s a week’s delay before shipping, though. Do check out the source link for more photos.
